About The Spanish Tutor

Hola, I am Alberto, the founder of The Spanish Tutor. (The beautiful cat is Mars, one of the best pets to ever exist!)

My life has been defined by the transformative power of learning and teaching languages. My own exposure to English as a child, driven by my parents' foresight, laid the foundation for a lifelong journey of exploration and growth.

This academic journey culminated in a Master's Degree in Foreign Language Teaching. Throughout my studies, I engaged in research, crafting dissertations and theses that contributed to language teaching.

My professional career has been diverse since day one, spanning roles in primary, secondary, and adult education settings based in Spain. A pivotal moment came when I was awarded a scholarship and became a Foreign Language Assistant through the British Council, embarking on an adventure that eventually led me to England. Here, my role and responsibilities expanded over time, and I now lead the Spanish Department in a secondary school in Northamptonshire.

During this time, I have supported fellow educators, including supporting several Initial Teacher Training Programmes, mentoring in areas such as time management, behaviour management or wellbeing. I was awarded a National Professional Qualification in Leading Teaching in January 2024.

I was also awarded a coaching qualification in 2022 as well as an Advanced Counselling Qualification in 2023. I am currently undertaking a CIPD Level 5 Course in Organisational Learning and Development. These are providing me with management skills which emphasise my own motto: one size does not fit all.

I founded The Spanish Tutor to put the motto into practice in my own terms, and in yours. I believe in the power of personalised learning and building positive relationships of trust and professionalism. Whether you are looking for support as a student of the Spanish language or as an educator, I will support you along your journey. All you need to do is tell me when.
